环境类雅思作文篇1
wind blows up bags higher and higher in the sky. it is a scary thought that some day the earth will turn into a huge garbage land. wastes, if not treated properly, will make our life a living nightmare.
the environmental issue is getting worse almost every day in cities with very large population. as is often the case, city development outpaces environmental protection. people consume great amount of natural resouces and produce wastes. to effectively address such problems, cities need to spend big money. in addition, they need to call to the attention of people to become more environmentally responsible.
many people are becoming less responsible and easily influenced by bad behaviors. “why should i care while others don’t care?” such idea makes some people only concern with places where they live and work. furthermore, people sometimes even purposely litter for revenge to other people.
although media promotes environmental awareness, good people are often snubbed as posers who try to set up a superior image in real life. consequently, they are intimated of receiving negative comments for doing the right thing. wrong as it is, such phenomenon is widespread especially among youngsters and people with low income and little education.
however, our society is waging a campaign against environmental pollution. people learn the harms of undegradable lunch boxes and other polluting wastes. laws in many countries prohibit or limit excessive use of polluting bags. companies are continuely replacing the old materials with more environmental friendly and recyclable kinds. scientists have
developed more effective technologies in waste treatment. as time goes by, more and more people put high priority on the protection of environment for a healthier life.
to sum up, people produce huge amount of garbage and the environment is seriously polluted because of lack of financial resources, sense of responsibility, or efforts. but the world will not turn into a “throw away” society if people put in sufficient efforts to protect our environment.
环境类雅思作文篇2
some people believe that economic development should never be at the cost of the environment. they think the present serious environmental problems are largely caused by rapideconomic development. for example, land resources are shrinking because of the industrial development and the expansion of cities. deserts are spreading because of over grazing, poor fanning, tree cutting, and strip mining. our air and water supplies are being polluted by poisonous gassesand waste products. it is important, therefore, that we should take another look at the way in which our industries and cities are developing. however, other people think it unnecessary to consider
environmental problems now and our first priority should always be given to economic development. they believe that environmental problems are inevitable and unavoidable in the process of economic development. they are only the by products of economic development, which can be dealt with later when we have the time and money.
i think the second idea is completelywrong. our ultimate aim in economic development is to provide a comfortable and happy life for our people. what is the point of economic development if we achieve it at the cost of our environmentthere has been much evidence to prove that a balance between the two helps more rapid and continuous development.
环境类雅思作文篇3
with the continuous development of science and technology, the increasing number of cars, emissions of emissions has caused serious pollution, perhaps, a few years later generations, hundreds of years after everyone, perhaps because of air pollution and death. now, twenty percent of the people on earth every year are killed by drinking contaminated water, and if this continues, will the earth become bare after tens of thousands of years, like the moon?
according to the statistics of scientists, every year, more than 20 percent of the trees are withered by exhaust pollution every year. more than eighty percent of our useful bacteria die, and everyone may feel very exaggerated, but it is true. followed by contaminated waste water, waste gas and so on. is human error?
how much i hope that we can cherish every thing around us, every animal, every beneficial bacteria, because it is possible, in tens of thousands of years later today, they are gone.
animals have warned against humans;
bacteria have warned against humans;
every innocent life warned us.
"human, do not harm yourself, do not kill us again!"
环境类雅思作文篇4
i am not supportive of the idea that either takes priority. it is necessary and absolutely possible that economic development and environmental protection co-exist,in the sense that both of them are indispensable factors for the prosperity of society.
economic development is seemingly more important, due to the fact that it creates enormous job opportunities, improves living conditions and increases government revenues. yet, the above goals can only really be reached on condition that the environment is well. protected. and, interestingly, it is the economic development per se that provides the money and personnel resources required for the protection of the environment. a well-preserved environment is the groundwork for the economy and in a way promotes economic growth. a fast-developing and well-functioning economy calls for a good environment, which offers essential resources, e.g. wood, coal, water, etc. for production. once the environment deteriorates, the production process is likely to be disturbed or even halted. what is worse, natural disasters that come with the worsening environmental conditions might even paralyses the whole economy mid pose a severe threat to human life, the pursuit of short-term economic profit is the destruction of our home and that of our posterity.
so, economic development and environmental protection are equally important. in this sense, we are actually working on an environment-friendly economy. given the status quod, it is possible to realize the co-existence of the two as long as we are conscious and determined enough.
环境类雅思作文篇5
environmental hazards are often too great for particular countries or individuals to tackle. we have arrived at a point in time where the only way to lessen environmental problems is at an international level.
environmental problems have reached such proportions that people feel international organizations must be set up to intervene in world affairs to resolve these problems. whether this will resolve the problem is very unlikely as international organizations are just an extension of human behavior. that is, if human conflicts cannot be resolved at home, then they are unlikely to be resolved at the international level. nevertheless, international organizations do attract attention to the growing problem of aims of the international community to resolve the issue of environmental pollution and support their cause, i do not believe it is the best or only way to protect the environment; in fact, it is only a small part of what is needed in a global initiative.
all world problems, whether it is environmental pollution, war, energy insufficiency, or famine, arise from the abusive behavior of all individuals. therefore, the solution to all these problems is the need for a collective consciousness. what is meant by this is that each individual must be aware of the impact he or she has on the world and their unique part to play in this world. after all, if one is happy with his life, he will surely not endeavor to harm the environment or anyone else. his behavior will be that of a responsible individual.
what is needed, therefore, is education. education is the key to all problems and it starts from pregnancy all the way to adulthood and beyond. furthermore, education means that children all over the world should be allowed to go to schools with good teachers and where teaching materials and methods can be adapted to each individual. education means raising children to be responsible individuals.
this may sound like utopia, but it is not: if a country had important problems in its educational system, then it should realize that it is contributing to the world's problems. these are perhaps long term solutions, but they are more realistic solutions than setting up yet another international organization.
